The "SETERE OCR" optical text recognition system has joined the RED OS ecosystem

Russian software developers RED SOFT and SETERE confirmed compatibility of RED OS operating system and Optical Text Recognition System "SETERE OCR". These works were done with the view of implementing the program of information technology import substitution.

SETERE OCR is the software designed for optical text recognition of scanned documents, PDF-documents and image files including digital photos. It uses a licensed ABBYY FineReader Engine for Linux for text recognition. Optical text recognition system SETERE OCR is registered in Rospatent (№ 2021614191 of 19.03.2021) and is included in the Unified register of Russian Software and Databases (№12153).

RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations, which provides a universal environment for the use of application software. The product is certified by FSTEC of Russia (No. 4060 dated January 12, 2019), which confirms its compliance with information security requirements and allows its use in government information systems. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases (#3751).

"RED SOFT follows high-tech trends and understands the market needs. The creation of a domestic operating system that is understandable and comfortable for the end user was made possible thanks to well-established partnerships and the high-quality application software of Russian developers", Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, commented.

"For our company, SETERE, this is the first experience of manufacturing our own software to be used directly for the import substitution program. We initially planned to create a niche product using the technology of our strategic partner, ABBYY, to solve one of the digitalization tasks in Russian institutions and state-owned companies - high-quality paper document processing. The challenge of this task was to ensure equal compatibility of our product with the leading Russian operating systems, to which Russian customers have been switching for several years", - Oleg Ivchenkov, Commercial Director of SETERE, commented.
